I'll be honest, I have tried others and thought 'well these seem much more robust than the FoodSaver rolls'. But this turned out to be a disadvantage because sealing the bags became laboured and more difficult at times. I couldn't help thinking that it was counter-productive and was actually putting more strain on my FoodSaver machine. In my opinion, the slight premium you have to pay for 'genuine' rolls far outweighs the consequences of shortening the life of your machine by forcing it to work too hard. It's a no brainer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only vacuum bags to buy. I have tried many makes of vacuum bag but I always return to foodsaver own make. I know they are generally a little more expensive, although I got these as a buy one get one free offer, but the material is much better quality. When you seal and freeze food in these bags / rolls you almost no loss of vacuum over time. Some of the cheaper ones are so thin that if you move them around in the freezer you end up with little hole where they scrape against other items and of course once the air get in, you get freezer burn. You just don't get this with foodsaver!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect size These rolls at first seem quite pricey (though I got two for one on this occasion!!) - but they are very strong and, since I live alone, are perfect for pre-frozen batch cooked meals - cut to size there's very little waste.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saves room in the freezer. Store packaging takes up more room in the freezer than it needs to. Repack into the food saver bag and it will take up less than half the space of the original packaging.
