FoodSaver was one of the gadgets tested. Watch the video below showing the experience of two participants and the impact that positive impact FoodSaver has had on their Food Waste and Food management.

Space and money saver.I bought this to replace my previous vacuum packer which had broken after years of service. It is a good piece of equipment for any kitchen as it saves so much space in the freezer, keeps foods fresher for longer in the fridge and has many non food uses too eg., when going on holiday vacuum pack things like toothpaste, shower gel, sunscreen etc., that will ruin your clothes if they burst open. I also vacuum pack some meats and then drop them in water in the slow cooker for fantastic results. Only drawback with this model is that it doesn't have a seal only button. should have purchased next model up but was in a hurry to get a replacement for my old machine.

Not as good as I expected.Wanted to vacuum seal food, to aid batch cooking and freezing. Appliance is easy to use, and once lid is firmly on you don't need both hands as other users suggested.
Two minus points: one, even though seal is tight, appliance doesn't always apply vacuum, necessitating multiple attempts to seal -annoying and time consuming. Two, there is a lot of wastage in the bags -manual suggests 75mm, but it's at least double.
And, as another user mentioned, the packaging bags are not for sale on tesco direct.
Plus, I haven't tried vacuuming kilner jars - I suspect this model won't do it, which is another disappointment.

Not worth unpacking - won't turn onThe prognosis for this little machine is not looking good from past reviews, and I am sorry to say we have experienced the same issue. Unpacked it from the box and zero power. Am just organising the return. Not overly impressed I'm afraid.

Very good!It does vacuum very well and it is suitable for anything that needs to be vacuumed, from food to any object really. It seals most of the plastic bags used in the kitchen (and not only), but due to its design it only vacuums its own bags or with similar design.

OK so I'm terrible with tech but this was easy!I bought this having to prep food to take away with me for a couple of days . I was so surprised with how quickly I actually managed to figure it out.. usually I'd be there for hours till I would have to search online for a video to explain.. fortunately this time I didn't. Great product really beneficial to anyone trying to keep meat and fish fresh especially!

disappointingI did not use this foodsealer for about a week after purchase and when using for the first time I thought that I was using it incorrectly as there did not seem to be any power to the unit I watched several YouTube videos showing how to use a foodsaver vacuum sealer and realised that when you closed the lid it should have activated the power so I pressed hard on the lid after I closed it and the power light came on but would not stay on unless I kept pressing down on the lid so it was almost impossible to hold the lid down with both hands and press the vacuum/seal button at the same time so I gather this was a faulty product and returned it. Very disappointed in the product but not the serve I received from Tesco.

Does not work - really disappointed.Very disappointed to find upon opening the box it doesn't work, as others have also said. You need to keep pushing both sides of the machine down to gain power and then some how have a third finger (?) to push the vacuum/sealer button. If you lift you hands off both of the sides the power turns off. Awful. This is now how the foodsaver is advertised or what is shown on the foodsaver videos. Will return.
