Boasting a range of innovative features, the FoodSaver Fully Automated Vacuum Sealer makes food preservation remarkably easy. The hands-free operation and automatic food detection features reduce bag making and sealing steps by 50% compared to previous FoodSaver vacuum sealing systems.
Automation at its best
Equipped with separate sealing modes for dry and moist food, the vacuum sealing system can deal with any kind of food. Its automatic liquid detection makes this even easier, switching modes itself when detecting the kind of food. There are also settings for pulses, canisters and even marinating food – meaning you can leave your meat or veg to enhance in flavour without any impairment to its quality.
The handy ‘seal only’ mode allows you to seal contents without vacuuming, ideal for quick and easy short-term storage. Even better, the system has a built in handheld sealer designed for use with our range of zipper bags and fresh containers. Proper sealing means better preservation, less food waste and more money saved on your weekly food bill.
Space saving design
With a sleek vertical design, the FoodSaver Automated Vacuum Sealer is suitable for kitchens of all sizes. Its integrated roll storage and cutter also give you more counter space for the all-important food preparation. In addition to saving space, the system’s hands-free operation saves you all the effort of sealing bags, making for quick, easy and efficient food preservation.
Built for convenience, the vacuum sealer uses LED lights to notify you of sealing progress, so you know you’re getting fully sealed food. The dishwasher safe drip tray ensures there is no mess and keeps things easy when it comes to maintenance. There’s even a 2-year guarantee, so you can rest assured your product is built to last and will save you money on food bills long into the future.

A great product but the manual is a let downThis product is the latest version in the line of vacuums which aims to save food from being thrown out.
The suction area: A far better design than the previous models, the drip tray comes in handy in case of spillages the bonus here is that its removable but can be a little tricky putting it back in.
The Cutter: This is problematic and appears to make a cracking noise, however, this is not a major concern as one is able to reduce the wastage to a minimum unlike the previous models.
The manual: is almost redundant and useless as its written in a way that can confuse the user.

Not a space saverThe manual is not helpful ,it.'s try and try again to get it right. This is my second food saver it may use less roll but takes up more counter space

Just what I needed in the kitchenI found it a little tricky to use at first but soon got the hang of it. Saves loads of space in the fridge and freezer and I can keep foods fresher for longer.
I would recommend that you read the instructions VERY carefully before using and all should go well.
My only gripe so far is that it won’t vacuum very narrow bags, I made my own 3 inch wide bags from the roll but the machine doesn’t seem to like that and won’t remove the air. No problem sealing these narrow bags without vacuum though.

Seems to be quite easy to useBought it for sous vide cooking. It works. The boxes are very neat. Marinading is quick. I can store 1/2 avocados instead of eating whole one at once.

Excellent Service and exceptional quality...I have been using Foodsaver machines for many many years and I have to say this is without any doubt the best machine yet. I use mine at least 5 times per day. I use it for Cheese, Bacon, Marinades, cooked and fresh meats, Bulk Tea Leaves, Vegetables, Soups, Cooked meals, Leftovers, Dog Food, Wine, Sous-Vide, Fridge, Freezer, Paints & Varnishes. As always Foodsavers instructions don't do it justice but here is a few pointers. I won't go into the flaws of some of the previous machines as there has always seemed to have been some. BUT this appears to have eliminated all of them. So here goes...some folk prefer to use only rolls as this can work out cheaper if you regularly use different size bags especially for Sous-Vide. I often buy cheap legs of lamb then Sous-Vide them whole. Previously it has been difficult working out the correct size of bag enabling you to save plastic, but now they have rectified this by sealing one end of the tube and then you can place your food on the top to measure and pull out the exact amount you need and when you cut it you can easily seal the end of the next bag ready for use.
OK now to the sealing mechanism...it is absolutely the best...you just put the bag in the slot and you can see exactly where the end is saving loads of plastic again and this enables you to reuse the bags many more times.
So this is where the leaflets they supply let it down, thus let me enlighten you...
To seal a bag is straight forward, just put the contents in your bag, lift the clear plastic lid, slide in your bag so that you can see the end and over the drip tray if required, then push down the clear lid trapping the bag then with your fingers hold it down firmly and press the switch below the bag with your thumbs to seal...Voila...
Now if you are wanting to seal bags of liquid contents or as you may with Sous-Vide containing a wet marinade in the bag, on earlier machines this drove you nuts as the liquid used to suck out between the bag and prevent it from sealing properly. NO LONGER.. all you have to do now is put the bag in with the wet contents and press the "Pulse" Button (check the green pulse light comes on), then press the lower sealing switches with your thumbs and the vacuum with engage and grip the bag, but not sucking the contents through the bag. Now continue by intermittently pressing the pulse button until you have the required amount of air removed, then to finish, press the large "Seal" button (on panel) ...Superb... just what we all wanted.
OK just a few other tips. If you want to just seal a bag either use the lower roll sealing system or better still use the upper system by putting in the bag and pressing the "Pulse" button, this engages the sealer over the bag and now simply press the top large "Seal" button. With practice you can seal about 1 cm from the edge saving a fortune in bags. And if you are Sous-videing it enables you to double seal bags with absolute ease..
When you need to clean the drip tray the clear window clips right up allowing easy access. Initially you think it won't lift but give it a little more upward pressure and it will sit nearly vertical staying in the upward position until you remove and replace the tray. To clean the drip tray I would recommend a toothbrush and soapy water, as this gets into all the edges. DO NOT leave liquids in the tray after use as if they are meat juices they will turn to mould.
If you have the earlier type if rectangular containers with the white lids and grey seals, this new green lipped sealer fits them perfectly so you don't need to use the old attachment.
A word of advice with all containers that if you find it doesn't seal very easily just moisten the seal with a wet finger and it will help seal any minute gaps.
If you are using the bottle sealer type (small tube) of canister you will need to pull the top off the new adaptor with a strong tug. I hope this helps you all.
Lastly I will defy anyone that posts negatively about their Support agents. I have dealt with their support quite a few times over the years and have never had anything other than total politeness and satisfaction... of course levels of support are always dependant upon the respect and understanding given by the customer...

Bought it to keep loose bits & bobs in bagsBought the machine as it was on a good offer at Costco and thought it would be handy for my loose bits and bobs in garage. New the wife would get use out of it too. Does a great job with food and sealing in those things you don;t want going missing in garage. Bought the storage tubs too as its that good in the kitchen... fantastic bit of kit. I like the vacuum part of the system as it keeps things from moving. Looking forward to using it

Vacuum sealing at its bestI have coveted this item for some time but felt uneasy about the price. Bought a cheap starter to see if I would use a vacuum sealer. My decision to upgrade was a good one. A whole new level of food storage. Being able to seal both moist and dry ingredients is such a bonus. sous voiding I see now a doddle. I am one very happy customer. The range of reasonably priced accessories is also good news. I can highly recommend this product.
